You can double right click on the DBabble tray icon (the icon by the clock in the bottom right corner of the screen) to send a new instant message.

You can change the background image and color scheme used by DBabble from the Appearance section of the preferences window.

DBabble supports public key encryption for instant messages so that you can send and receive encrypted messages and digitally sign messages you send. See the encryption section of the preferences window for more details.

If your DBabble administrator has enabled it, you can add links or embedded chat windows to your existing web pages so that anyone can chat with you using DBabble through a web page. To set this up, right click on the system tray icon next to the clock and choose State/Online Support

If your DBabble administrator has enabled it, you can send messages to email addresses, and if the recipient of the message replies, you will receive the reply as an instant message. To send an email message, double right click on the tray icon and type in the email address.

All your DBabble preferences, friends, and old messages are stored on the server so you can access your account from any computer you connect from.

You can assign system wide hot keys to many actions within DBabble from the Hot Keys section in the preferences window. You can even assign hot keys to specific friends by right clicking on them and choosing the hot key option. These hot keys can be used even while you are using different applications.

You can right click on text area (for example, the section of the window this message is in)  to change the font.

You can use DBabble to store and manage your 'To Do' list and be able to access it from any computer you connect from.\n\nRight click on the tray icon and choose 'To Do'.

If you regularly connect to DBabble from two or more different locations, you might want to set an online message so that your friends can see where you are at any given time. Right click on the tray icon and choose the state option.

If you haven't already done so, browse through your preferences (right click on the tray icon and choose 'preferences'). There are many aspects of DBabble you can customize to how you like things to work.

You can use DBabble to notify you when you have new email. You can choose whether you want to be just notified, or receive the entire email as an instant message. You can enable this feature from the preferences window.

You can drag files from Windows explorer onto users in your friends list to send the file to them.

When viewing your list of old instant messages, the best way to find a particular message is to type a few words you know are in the message in the search field and press enter. You can also type the senders name in the search box instead of selecting their name from the drop down list of friends.

You can make DBabble automatically connect to your existing ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, or AIM (AOL) account whenever you are using DBabble. See the preferences window for details.

In many situations you can customize the DBabble interface to suit how you commonly use it. For example, right click on the buttons at the bottom of an instant message window to choose which buttons you want displayed.

All your instant messages are stored on the server until you delete them (so that you can read them from anywhere you connect from). This includes attachments, so if you send and receive a lot of attachments you may quickly fill up your disk quota. If you don't want your old attachments there is a delete button in the page listing all your old instant messages. There is also an option in your preferences to automatically delete messages older than x days.

Reminder messages are stored on the server, so if you create one, it will be delivered to you when the reminder time arrives no matter where you are connected from.
