Introduction
------------

This package includes the installation of the avast! antivirus kernel for
Linux. The kernel is identical to the Windows version, so you can expect
excellent detection capabilities, combined with high performance, 100%
detection of ITW (In-The-Wild) viruses/worms and a very good detection of
Trojan horses, all that with a minimum number of false alarms.

Main features
-------------

- almost 100% detection capabilities
- low memory requirements
- ICSA certified, multiple VB100% award

Besides regular files, the avast! kernel for Linux also supports scanning
compressed files (ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, MIME, ARJ, RAR, EXEC, ARC, LHARC,
ZOO, CHM, CPIO, RPM, ISO, DBX, SIS and WINEXEC).

Installation
------------

Installing using the Linux rpm package:
	rpm -Uhv libavastengine-4.6.3-1.i586.rpm

Installing using the installation script:
	./mkinstall.sh

After running our `mkinstall.sh' script, follow instructions.
The script will do the following by default:
- copy the library file to /usr/lib directory
- copy shared files to /var/lib/avast4 directory
- create /etc/avastengine.conf configuration file
- copy binaries for updating and reloading VPS file to /usr/bin

By running the script, you can also install over an existing damaged
library installation.

You can install or overwrite user's configuration for avast! engine by
running the script with '-c' switch.

To uninstall the package, run './mkinstall.sh -u'.
