This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_surgeweb_1404630099_mpa= Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Yes the spam / notspam buttons combine several actions: - Moving to appropriate folder - Reporting to spam handling addresses - Addition of friend addresses and contact addresses - Cleaning subject markings It should show a green status message as to what it is actually doing. For m= ore info on expected behaviour see this table: http://netwinsite.com/surgeweb/help/user.htm#spam_reporting Note there are a couple of training configuration marked in red where the sp= am training is not yet getting actioned. The surgeweb "Spam" folder actually is the "Friends Pending" IMAP folder but= renamed to what I believe is a more appropriate name. Over the last few day= s a feature has been implemented to allow the "Friends Pending" folder's IMA= P name to be customised. This is not in any new builds yet but will probably= be in new builds available for download todsay. Note: that doing so may confuse existing users and if you change the "Friend= s Pending" folder to "Junk Email" say, any exising folder by this name would= no longer be visible to users. The use of the spam hold features is no longer recommended, but the use of t= he friends silent mode will allow you to effectively us the "Spam" / " Frien= ds Pending" folder for this purpose and have it behave more like a "Spam" fo= lder as you would find with most other mail products. Marijn --- Original message --- Subject: [SurgeMail List] SurgeWeb s "spam" button From: Dale - Ehome <lists@ehome.net> To: <surgemail-list@netwinsite.com> Date: 16/04/2009 11:53 AM Hi all, Does the spam button report emails to aspam like in the past? Visually it se= ems to just move them to the spam folder. I want to make sure these emails a= re also being recorded. I have a domain where I allow the catch-all address = specifically for collecting spam. Also, are there plans to make the spam folder visible as an IMAP folder? It = also seems that SurgeWeb doesn't recognize the Friends Pending folder or Hel= d folders that the old webmail does. I need to understand how these interact= before switching completely over to SurgeWeb. Thanks Dale ------=_NextPart_surgeweb_1404630099_mpa= |
