Looks like you have figured out where to set this, but I just wanted to prov=
ide the background to the introduction of this.

The surgeweb per domain customisation and static page caching depends on the=
identification of domains from SERVERNAME or ip address for efficiency reas=
ons. The previous surgeweb behaviour - or if you explicitly enable login_cro=
ssdomain - allows say users from one account@free-domain.com to login to the=
interface of say paid-domain.com and get all interface features and customi=
sation setup for paid-domain.com on their free-domain.com account - or in fa=
ct get the interface features of "any domain on your server".

If you use a single login page for all your domains and are not using any pe=
r domain customisation then there is no real need for limiting this, and you=
probably want to set "Show Domain - login_domain" to hide and login_crossdo=
main to enabled. Most notably this is useful if you have a single SSL certif=
icate for the server that all hosted domains login under using https - and d=
o not wish to use per domain customisation.

Sorry to be dense, but I can't find any mention of this setting anywhere in =
the docs or in the list archives, and it's apparently crucial to returning t=
he functionality I'd been using for debugging domain issues. I'm used to log=
ging into one of our servers using one domain but logging into an account in=
a different domain hosted on the same server, or:

login:domain1user@domain1.com@domain2.net

in surgeweb login page. Surgeweb returns this error:

Sorry crossdomain logins are disabled (enable with login_crossdomain in surg=
eweb admin interface)

which seems straightforward enough except that this setting doesn't show up =
in any settings search or the Help page, and I'm unclear about what the "Sur=
geweb Admin Interface" is other than the Surgeweb settings within the overal=
l settings page at port 7025. I suspect I'm missing something pretty basic, =
but half suspect that I'm perhaps supposed to add the line:

login_crossdomain =3d true

in /etc/surgeweb.ini. I'm using 4.0m-1 on OS X Intel and PPC servers.
