I have just investigated. This is the old webmail html editor not included i=
n new versions of windows issue. The webmail check for new versions of IE on=
ly disabled the html interface under IE7 and not IE8 - I'll see if I can fix=
 that today so that IE8 reverts to text editor as well.

Yes the interface should work in IE8 runnign in compatibility mode.
