I think what you are doing is fine.  I guess it's suggesting an intermittent network issue. 

It's probably best to ask directly on the letsencrypt community page in case it's a known issue:

I have the updating of letsencrypt running on my system.

When logging on the the server, sometime I have the following message in a Cmd window
